I don't fit your shoe
I often have been observing people following the approach of others just so that they succeed doing the same thing they did. So i spoke to my friends and colleagues and got the review as if they can why can't i be on that post or position even though i can also do same thing.
Here the issue is all about "If i follow their approach i would succeed", you cannot walk in everyone's shoe, as some shoe would be small some would be big and some might be too tight to wear and walking in that would make your leg crumble or would tear your skin.
Now the primary reason behind this all is pretty simple you have a different thought process and goals than the person you assume to be you mentor. Do have them as your mentor approach the when you crumble but don't just follow their path blindly or it might devastate you based on the approach or it might land you in a wrong place. The one thing which we lack usually is patience. recently my friend gave an interview and kept buzzing me for 2 days just to get what the result was even though the HR updated it would take 3 days to get back to him.
I read a book Dream with your eyes open written by Robin Screwvala he is an enterprenuer, while reading his journey i explored a paragraph where he told if you are not making mistakes you ain't growing. So what i learned from it was if you are following others journey you won't learn anything new or would explore an unexplored horizon as you see the same route which was walked and don't prefer taking risk to learn anything or explore and teach something.
So why you prefer walking into someone's shoe better walk your journey so you would fall and than rise you would explore the darkest part of the journey. It's like if you don't make mistakes you didn't learn the things some people around you did and that makes them a person to watch for during troubles.
So walk your journey and don't try to fit in any other shoe. Hope you like the article and share your feedback.
