Away from my home
Long gone are the days when he used to smile everyday
All he now misses is a scolding of his mother today
It was a different world to have mother by side those days
Having those fights and mentioning them as generations gap day
Those smiles those tears everything is now a memory
Having those dinner and lunch and cracking jokes around
Teasing the siblings and quarreling all day long
Spending those evenings watching movies with family at home
And than the time flew by and pulled us away
Far away from the place which gave us a peace at end of day
Working all day and coming back to that place with a smile on face
Having the food and not worrying for what would be next day
Long gone are those days when things were just ready everyday
Time just changed and pulled us away leaving memories for us to say
Now are the days when we wake up not with mom's voice but alarms everyday
Food is not always ready as if hungry we need to learn to cook today
That smile has been lost somewhere as people ain't same around
Days pass away and we just miss those old days
Sitting near those tea stalls and cracking joke with friends on weekends
Sitting next to father and taking lessons of life from him
Mom yelling around as you just missed the one thing she told you to do
Fighting with sibling for the remote as your favorite show's gonna get aired
Tears pass by from eyes missing those old days
Grandpa's voice calling you for sharing those stories of his days
And that's how home used to feel long back those days
Now the days are filled with silence all around
Nights pass by while we are working all that long
Smiles have been lost and all we do is now is sit alone
Looking at those memories in pictures while far from home.
