Generation Gap
I know most of readers out there have heard once in their life the golden word "there's a generation gap". But is there really something as a generation gap ?
My mom often tell me "In our days we used to have so much fun as we didn't have TV's and mobiles to ruin moments" and the immediate response to it is "do you have pictures ?". But the lesson we learned from our parents is pictures doesn't always capture memories as best are those which are in memory till last breath and not pictures. My grandmother used to narrate stories of her childhood and all cousins of mine used to listen to her more seriously than even watching a cartoon time. So most of our parents fear the generation we saw shouldn't be extinct.
As love letter had it's own goosebumps not like us which has got replaced by the whatsapp messages and google images. Best approach to express any feeling is to be face to face and not on video call once a elderly person told me. India being a technical hub of world this days as teens here are innovators and are a skilled creator. While we are getting gadget savvy at the same time we are loosing the human touch of life which is gatherings and events.
"Things haven't changed it just moved from human to technology" My mom told me this. Gatherings turned group conversations, love letter turned whatsapp messages and google images, kiss turned into emoticons and discussing problems turned into status and stories. Using eraser to erase the pencils trace on that piece of paper is turned to backspace button on keyboard to erase the words in notepad and deleting the message on whatsapp.
What i learned was generations didn't have a gap all that got replaced was the medium to express.
